Amanda Picillo, Managing Director

Amanda is the Managing Director of ESP.  Before this role, Amanda was CEO of a UK educational social enterprise offering services to schools throughout the UK and international sectors.  Amanda has also been Headteacher of 3 different schools over a period of 13 years. 

As a National Leader of Education (NLE), she has a wide experience of supporting schools and working in partnership with other leaders to improve outcomes.  For 7 years she led an outstanding 800-place Academy and established a Multi Academy Trust. In addition to her CEO role at the Academy she was also Director of Initial Teacher Training (ITT).  Throughout her career she has led her schools through 3 separate outstanding judgements by Ofsted.  Her teaching training centre was judged outstanding twice and was rated the third best teacher training establishment nationally.

Mark Bignell, Business Development Director

Mark is the Business Development Director of ESP.  Mark has 15 years’ experience of supporting British international schools and has led on the development of services to the sector in this time.  Mark leads on ESP’s UK and international CPD and NPQ delivery partnerships and is currently supporting CPD activities across 42 countries of the world.  In addition to his role with ESP, Mark also holds the role of Executive Officer for the Association of British Schools Overseas (AoBSO), the DfE recognised membership association for BSO accredited schools worldwide.

Kieron Peacock, Consultant Leader

Kieron is a Consultant Leader for ESP, delivering our portfolio of school improvement support for British international schools.  Prior to this Kieron was a member of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) Executive Board, the International Representative for the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) representing 60 international schools and a Head of a BSO school. His 7 year tenure as head of The English School, Kuwait led to the school being shortlisted for several international awards. Kieron is a UK and international schools’ inspector for ISI and has a thorough knowledge of the British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection scheme. Kieron has a proven track record in nurturing leadership in others and enhancing school operations.

Maureen Cussans, Consultant Leader

Maureen is a Consultant Leader for ESP, delivering our portfolio of school improvement support for British international schools. Maureen has over 30 years leadership, management and teaching experience in the UK and Africa. She was Headteacher of the BSO accredited Kenton College Prep School for 15 years, during which time she led the school to outstanding judgements in DfE BSO inspection. With specialisms in staff mentoring and training, Maureen served for 6 years as Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) District Chair and International Representative. Her work was recognised with the 2019 Outstanding Service Award by the Association.
